News Update – Q3 2014

Dear Parents and Students

Spring is finally here! After a cold Cape Town Winter, sunshine, and beautiful weather has arrived! (Well not for today it appears!)

Here is an update on all the news and happenings for Term 3!

Destiny

We recently had our National Championships competition, Destiny, on the 30^th & 31^st of August. We had CJA Warriors, big and small, come and show us what they are made of!

A big well done to everybody that competed! You made us very proud!  You all fought really well, showed great sportsmanship – we couldn’t ask for better warriors!

I have sent ALL the schools the results of the competition, so please follow up for me that your children are recognized.

Last, but definitely not least, a huge thank you to all the people who gave their time and energy over the weekend, working as referees, table officials, and all the other small jobs. Thanks to your help, Destiny 2014 was a huge success, and ran smoother than we could’ve hoped! We couldn’t do it without you!

WP Colours

• We have some students who have now  received their Western Province Colours for:    

                                   Jiu Jitsu

                                  Power Breaking

                                  MMA Light

They did this, by winning a Gold Medal in their respective divisions at the Provincial Competition (Cape Classic), in May, and going on to compete in the National Competition (Destiny) at the end of August.

An e-mail to you and your school has been sent to confirm that you have received your WP Colours.

Camp

It’s almost that time of year again! It’s almost time for the CJA Camp!!!

Every year, we run a camp for CJA students, that are in Grade 1 and up, that promises to be a great weekend away, filled with laughs, fun, training, and happy kids!

Activities include: Swimming, training, yummy food, pillow fights, marshmallow cooking, fun walks, and of course, Mike’s Ten! (You will have to come on camp to find out what Mike’s Ten is!)

This is a family event, and family is always welcome! It’s not only fun for the kids, but a great “kuier” for the adults when the kids go to bed! J

For the parents, we provide basic dorm type accommodation, good simple camp food and a great atmosphere, the rest is up to you J

Camp Letters have been sent out – first come first served, so please get them back to us as soon as possible!

The camp will take place on the 31st October, 1st & 2nd November, in Franshoek, at the old Groot Draakenstein Prison

Supporters T-shirts

Want to show that you are a CJA supporter, at any event you want to? We have supporters T-Shirts for you. They cost R130 each. (Only adult sizes available)

Still looking for premises!

I am still urgently looking for alternative premises. Thank you everyone that has given input so far.

If you know of a venue that CJA could rent on a long term basis please let me know ASAP.

Requirements:          Minimum 150m²

Available Mon / Wed           5pm – 9pm

Mat Order

We are putting in another order for mats. If you would like to purchase some mats, please e-mail us and let us know. The closing date for your mat orders is Friday 3rd October. Delivery will be maximum SIX WEEKS.

The mats will cost R650 each, and are the same as the ones used in class. Please email Mike with your order. mike@cja.co.za

FOURTH TERM CLASSES

Fourth Term classes start again the week of 13 October and end the last week of November.
